Scat Cat!

We are having major problems with cats crapping everywhere!

Under the trampoline is just a huge litter tray and the cats are going in the flower beds and under the trampoline. Oona was crawling about yesterday in the sunshine and I have to admit I was a bit paranoid about her finding something she shouldn’t.

I’ve tried to attack the problem from as many different angles as I can, hoping that the ‘sticky bud effect’ will happen…throw as many ideas at the wall, hopefully one will work!

I’ve bought this:

Cat repeller

but I’m still waiting for it to have its full effect. It makes a high pitched noise in response to heat (I was hoping it was only audible to cats but we can hear it in our living room if the window is open) apparently it takes 28 days to change the cats’ behvaiour. It seems all the cats in the neighbourhood were using the garden, so I’ve a way to go before all the cats have experienced the high pitch noise often enough for it to have effected their behaviour and ¬†they’ve all learned.

Another thing I bought were some plants, interestingly named ‘scaredy cat’ which smell a bit lemony so I need to get Imogen planting these in the areas where the cats foul. They are supposed to keep the cats away because of their offensive (to them) odour.

This is my third and final area of attack: a spray repellent which smells abhorrent to cats which we have used liberally on the little den and it’s hessian door. Hopefully we won’t be bothered by our little cat friends any more!

cat and dog deterrent spray by ‘get off’
other cat deterrents you could try RSPB
