Collections of marvellous things

Have you noticed this is yet ANOTHER Skipton Castle post?

We absolutely love Skipton and the castle is wonderful…well actually, the castle is a beautiful castle in its own grounds but it is the fact that it is such a lovely setting, with the town of Skipton just there, and its Market stalls with the sweetie stall that sells the longest marshmallows in the World … and the barges for when we fancy a trip up the canal and the pretty gardens, and the tea rooms and the wonderful staff especially ‘Magic Peter’ who is a real friend to the children, he can magic pennies and sometimes Werther’s Originals out from behind their ear and tells them that a dragon lives in the dungeon. They look for him whenever we arrive, so much so that if he isn’t working the ladies on the front desk will say “Sorry, Peter isn’t in today” even before they’ve asked!

We are ‘friends’ of the castle which means we pay upfront for the year and I don’t even have to show the card because they know us so well. We get a little bit of a discount in the shop and cafe too!

Anyway I told you (again!) about the ‘collection of marvellous things’ to be found in Skipton, I also have another collection of marvellous things:

Imogen, Leon and Elizabeth took Oona to collect some marvellous things in the garden. They have to help her a little bit up and down the stone steps but after that she is free to explore and was bringing me sticks, cones, bits of bark…

a feather, a branch and a smile!

My collection of marvellous things from Miss Oona!

Love is…being totally knackered from being up all night and sitting arm in arm on the bench!

Leon’s selfie! I found this on the camera and it was too cute to miss off!

If you haven’t been already get yourself over to Skipton. And make yourself a collection of marvellous things! And check out my previous post: Skipton Castle in the Sunshine!

Thanks! 🙂 We love it at Skipton, we really need to find a beautiful five bedroomed farm house in the hills there! 🙂
